Learning Corner: Talking About AI with Your Team

Estimated Time to Complete: 30 minutes

Objective:
To give your team space to share hopes and worries about AI at work, so you can lead the change with people instead of around them.

Materials Needed:

  • A team meeting slot

  • A whiteboard or shared board with two columns: Hopes and Worries

Activity Steps:

1. Open it up (5 minutes)
Tell the team you want to hear how AI changes are landing for them, and that there are no wrong answers.

2. Collect hopes and worries (10 minutes)
Each person adds at least one hope and one worry to the board. Read them out loud without commenting.

3. Look for themes (8 minutes)
Group what you see. Common worries include job security, learning curves and quality. Common hopes include less busywork and more time for people.

4. Agree on one next step (7 minutes)
Pick one worry to address and one hope to act on. Name who will follow up and when.

Key Takeaways:

  • People handle change better when their worries are heard.

  • Hopes give you energy to build on.

  • Managers who support AI use make a big difference in how it lands.

Reflection Prompt:

What is one worry about AI you hear from your team that you haven't addressed yet?
