Learning Corner: Running a Small AI Experiment as a Team

Estimated Time to Complete: 30 minutes to plan, two weeks to run

Objective:
To help your team try an AI tool on a real task, learn together and decide what's worth keeping.

Materials Needed:

  • One AI tool your organization has approved

  • A repetitive task your team does often

Activity Steps:

1. Pick the task (8 minutes)
Choose something routine and low risk, like summarizing notes or drafting a first version of a regular update.

2. Set the rules (7 minutes)
Agree on what's okay to share with the tool, how output will be checked and who reviews it before anything goes out.

3. Try it for two weeks (Ongoing)
Each person uses the tool on the task at least three times and notes what worked, what didn't and how long it took.

4. Debrief (15 minutes)
Meet as a team. Share what you learned. Decide together: keep it, change how you use it or drop it.

Key Takeaways:

  • Small experiments lower fear and build skill.

  • Clear rules about data and review keep quality high.

  • Learning together beats everyone figuring it out alone.

Reflection Prompt:

What is one task on your team that eats time every week? Could a small experiment help?
